Edita Food Industries expects 2026 sales to rise 25% to EGP 26 billion, from about EGP 21 billion in 2025, CEO Ahmed Samy told Al Borsa News.
To get there, the Egyptian snack maker behind Molto, Todo and HoHos plans to invest up to EGP 4 billion (about $71.3 million) this year in expanding production. A new factory in the 6th of October City industrial zone will start with four production lines in Q1 2027 and add about 10% to Edita's total capacity.
Edita first set out the EGP 4 billion budget in December 2025. Hani Berzi, now Group Chairman, told Asharq Business at the time that 60% would go to Egypt, including developing half of the remaining land at its Polaris Industrial Zone site in 6th of October City and equipping a newly acquired factory. The rest covered a new production line at an acquired factory in Iraq and extra lines under study in Morocco. In October 2025, Edita also agreed to buy production machinery from a regional food company for EGP 320 million.
Halfway through the year, Edita is growing faster than its full-year target. Its first-half 2026 results, published in August, show:
Revenue: EGP 12.3 billion, up 32.5%.
Net profit: EGP 1.5 billion, up 63%, with net margin rising to 12.2% from 9.9%.
Volumes: 2.1 billion packs, up 17.4%, and 86,500 tonnes, up 29.8%.
Exports: EGP 1.17 billion, up 52.3%, or 9.6% of revenue.
Morocco: EGP 301.3 million in revenue, up 7.2%.
Iraq: EGP 72.5 million, after its cake line started production at the end of March.
Berzi named cakes and bakery as the main growth drivers. In the first quarter alone, cake revenue rose 35.9% to EGP 3.1 billion and croissant revenue rose 67.7% to EGP 1.6 billion.
Abroad, Edita Morocco has started exporting to Mauritania and several European countries. The company says it is also studying acquisitions in Egypt and the wider region.
